About Our Client
The client is a well-established restaurant brand that has 4 global locations. The original site is based here in Central London, and they are looking for a Financial Controller to manage a team of 5. The team consists of a Management Accountant, a Finance Analyst, and 3 Finance Assistants. The role will report directly to the CFO. They are keen on ensuring that the successful candidate has prior experience working as the Financial Controller for a luxury restaurant business and has prior line management experience.
Job Description
The successful Financial Controller will:
- Manage all global finance and accounting operations across 4 global locations.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and present management accounts/reports to the senior leadership team.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
- Manage a team of up to 5 people.
- Liaise with the auditors and manage the audit process.
- Investigate and review previous years' financials and cash flows to understand reported figures.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Monitor cash flow.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Prepare and review all monthly reconciliations, including the reconciliation of Group intercompany balances.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Perform additional controller duties as necessary.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Financial Controller will:
- Be a fully qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
- MUST have prior experience working as an FC within a restaurant company.
- Have previous experience managing a team (flexible on size).
- Have experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Sage 200 experience is ideal but not essential.
- Possess great analytical skills.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
