About Our Client

The client is a well-established restaurant brand that has 4 global locations. The original site is based here in Central London, and they are looking for a Financial Controller to manage a team of 5. The team consists of a Management Accountant, a Finance Analyst, and 3 Finance Assistants. The role will report directly to the CFO. They are keen on ensuring that the successful candidate has prior experience working as the Financial Controller for a luxury restaurant business and has prior line management experience.

Job Description

The successful Financial Controller will:

  • Manage all global finance and accounting operations across 4 global locations.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and present management accounts/reports to the senior leadership team.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Manage a team of up to 5 people.
  • Liaise with the auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Investigate and review previous years' financials and cash flows to understand reported figures.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Monitor cash flow.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Prepare and review all monthly reconciliations, including the reconciliation of Group intercompany balances.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Perform additional controller duties as necessary.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Financial Controller will:

  • Be a fully qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
  • MUST have prior experience working as an FC within a restaurant company.
  • Have previous experience managing a team (flexible on size).
  • Have experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Sage 200 experience is ideal but not essential.
  • Possess great analytical skills.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What's on Offer

  • £70,000 - £80,000
  • A wealth of additional experience.
