Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant standards.
  • Present financial reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Accounting Operations:
  • Manage and supervise the accounting team, overseeing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
  • Compliance and Audits:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate external audits and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Prepare tax returns and financial documentation.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for company operations.
  • Organize and manage inventory data, including using spreadsheets to track and analyze inventory.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
  • Strong experience working with spreadsheets (Excel) to organize, analyze, and present data.
  • Experience with inventory management and organizing information related to inventory.
  • CPA experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.


Salary:

$80,000 - $85,000 per year
