We have an immediate opening for a Controller. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join and lead the Finance team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This job is full-time and on-site in Avenel, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee general accounting functions including monthly close
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying trends and variances to support decision making
• Maintain fixed asset records, tax depreciation schedules, and ensure proper accounting treatment
• Design and implement internal control framework to safeguard financial integrity and mitigate risk
• Identify opportunities to automate and enhance efficiency in financial processes
• Supervise and develop accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Develop and manage financial models, forecast and cost allocation systems to support business objectives
• Oversee cash management and loan covenant compliance
• Partner with CFO on periodic reporting of key metrics including daily operational reports
• Work closely with external auditors
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA is a plus.
• Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience required.
• Industry experience in trucking required.
• Proven leadership ability with the ability to motivate & develop teams required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Fixed Asset Software
• Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamic GP) required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
