Summary
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting modeling and strategic initiatives across the organization. This role will serve as a critical right hand to the Director of Finance & Analytics, helping to build and will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing financial models, preparing forecasts and budgets, and supporting capital planning efforts across business units.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasts; identify variances, track performance metrics, and explain key business drivers to leadership.
- Support financial planning for new facility or store openings, expansion opportunities, and sensitivity modeling.
- Assist in preparing investor materials, board presentations, and ad-hoc strategy decks used to communicate with senior leadership and potential capital partners.
- Support the financial modeling process by gathering, validating, and organizing data inputs from various departments including operations, accounting, and retail.
- Conduct market research on peers, competitors, and industry benchmarks, particularly among cannabis MSOs and adjacent industries.
- Collaborate with operations, retail, and cultivation teams to refine business line P&Ls, optimize cost structures, and identify growth opportunities.
- Ensure financial models are audit-ready, documented, and scalable for evolving business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or FP&A.
- Strong command of Excel (modeling, scenario analysis, index/match, lookups).
- Familiarity with valuation methods and capital budgeting.
- Experience working with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and intellectual curiosity.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
