Overview
Touro University's Lander College of Arts and Sciences is hiring a full-time Administrative Assistant position for the Dean's Office in Brooklyn, NY. This position interfaces with students, Deans, Chairs, and faculty and provides administrative support for the Dean of Students.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for typing memos, letters, and general correspondence
- Responsible for entering and updating information into the system and creates reports
- Creates files and follows up with any missing documents
- Responsible for maintaining forms required by the Commission on Higher Education
- Responsible for responding to phone calls from prospective students and answering questions; forward certain calls to appropriate advisor Mail requested documents
- Interacts with different departments
- Assists with student orientations and registrations
- Interacts with upper level personnel
- Prepares requisitions for department follows up on difficulties; keeps track of all orders by the department
- Maintains master list of all documents
- Manages calendar and sets up appointments
- Responsible for general administrative tasks
- Posts and types flyer announcements
- Participates and attends meetings
- Liaison between Dean and students
- Responsible for ordering supplies
- Special projects as assigned by Dean of Students
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Three-four years of work experience in an office setting is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized and excellent telephone skills
- Energetic, reliable, and responsible
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
Travel
- Possible traveling once or twice bi-weekly to Manhattan
Maximum Salary
USD $42,117.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $33,694.00/Yr.
