About The Role

Working within the project support team, you will collaborate with departments such as Project Management, Purchasing, and Commercial to ensure accurate financial reporting on contracted and internal projects, including actuals and forecasts. The Finance Project Support Officer position is based at our Barnstaple, Bristol, or Beckington site, with flexible working arrangements. The salary for this role is up to £40k, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

  1. Project administration: from order acceptance, set up the project in focal point with correct order, revenue, and invoice dates. For internal projects without financial info, such as Private Venture, set up accordingly.
  2. Monthly financial oversight: update project forecasts, prepare reports, and update the business system with any changes.
  3. Revenue posting and invoice approval: accurately post revenue, gather evidence based on IFRS categorization, and approve invoices by verifying POs and currency rates.

The skills you need

  • Experience in project control/accounting in a commercial, defence, or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of revenue trading is a plus.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Interest in developing analytical skills (Excel, Power Query, Power BI, etc.)
  • Part or fully qualified in Accountancy (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) is desirable.
