Our New York, NY client has a hybrid contract opportunity for a Finance Manager. This position will be a fixed term maternity coverage and will be responsible for all aspects of financial planning and analysis for Gaming & Emerging Media with our client. The Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating monthly reporting of revenue and expenses throughout the year, submitting forecast updates, building annual budgets, and developing long-range plans. It will also include responsibility for month-end reconciliation of all accounts, consolidated revenue and expense reporting and variance analysis to Senior Management.

    Hours: 9AM - 5:30PM
Top Critical Skills or Must Haves:

Responsibilities:
  • The role will work closely with the wider Global Licensing Finance Team across several locations and will be responsible for enhancing the contribution of the finance function to the wider Global team.
  • This role will also play a critical part in creating, maintaining and distribution of performance measurements and analytics to partner & support business leads in making informed business decisions with the aim of growing the Gaming business
  • Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Monthly Close
  • Manage all aspects of the monthly close and reconciliation, including all revenue and expense results and resolving any discrepancies with accounting
  • Partner directly with Controller's and Ancillary COE teams to ensure all transactions are recorded properly including accruals
  • Prepare ongoing cause of change analyses to support P&L variances on annual forecasts vs. Prior Forecast, Budget and Prior Year
  • Ensure reporting and all FP&A outputs are produced accurately and coincide with the deadlines established by Corporate Finance
Forecasting & Budgeting:
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and 5-year plan process for Games and Emerging Media
  • Maintain Longview planning units (i.e., profit centers, cost centers, project codes) to ensure the most efficient reporting from the financial system. Embrace change and tailor reporting for any go forward changes to the Global financial planning system
  • Managing detailed templates for the business teams to utilize effectively for planning purposes
  • Track live updates against the last submitted projections to ensure we will hit targets
Games and Emerging Media business support
  • Support monthly meetings with business teams to run through results, communicate fluctuations from forecasts and managing changes within guidelines
  • Manages expense codes for marketing and production across new games and categories
  • Supports the quarterly participations expense deduction reporting.
  • Monitors spend for intercompany chargeback between client and those brands
  • Handling transactional inquiries and questions coming from the gaming team
  • Conduct ad hoc modelling to support business decisions on emerging business initiatives
  • Other ad-hoc duties as they arise.
Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years combined experience in a media organization, finance team or accounting firm
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; MBA/CPA a plus
  • Highly analytical - data-based decision making, including strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with reconciliation and accounting close cycles
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve problems and maximize efficiency
  • Strong organizational skills - manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong technical skills: expert in Microsoft Excel and preferred experience with SAP and Longview.
