Responsibilities / Tasks
The role involves managing various phases of new product development for the dairy hygiene product line, with a focus on new product research, product testing in both lab and field settings, particularly on farms interacting with large farm animals.
Conduct pre-development research on new product ideas and concepts.
Collaborate with sales and marketing to identify test farms and coordinate test farm agreements.
Conduct field testing of R&D products according to defined protocols.
Transport chemicals and/or mixing devices to test farms/sites.
Manage and interpret field testing data, and communicate results to R&D, Product Management, and Marketing.
Support R&D and Marketing in monitoring existing products and recommend changes as needed.
Utilize Excel and statistical software for project management.
Manage protocol testing for new products, including test protocol development and result dissemination.
Oversee international on-farm testing, including test design, monitoring, and result analysis.
Study animal/dairy research and its impact on the dairy industry to guide future development.
Participate in industry events, committees, and seminars.
Initiate and manage University Testing programs.
Support GEA Training programs.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 45% of the time.
Your Profile / Qualifications
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $18.98 - $21.40 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
Skills and Education:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Animal Science from a four-year college is required.
Dairy farm experience/background preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to chemical handling and laboratory practices.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on managing projects with the goal of being efficient and productive and meeting deadlines.
Perform other assignments as designated by the supervisor.
Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting data and results in English.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Strong knowledge of statistical data analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
