About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled individual to join our team as a POS Support Technician & Payments Integration Specialist. This role is critical to our success, involving both hands-on field work at client sites (restaurants and retail operations) in and around Sioux Falls, as well as in-office technical support and integration projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have a solid understanding of Point of Sale systems and payment processing.
POS Support Technician Duties:
- Perform on-site installation, configuration, and maintenance of POS hardware and software at various client locations.
- Provide timely and effective remote and on-site technical support to diagnose and resolve POS system issues.
- Conduct clear and comprehensive training sessions for clients on the proper use and best practices of their POS systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams (eg, sales, development) to ensure POS solutions meet client needs and business objectives.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, support interactions, and system configurations.
Payments Integration Specialist Duties:
- Research, evaluate, and recommend suitable payment gateways and software solutions to enhance our payment processing capabilities.
- Design, develop, and implement seamless integration solutions between our POS systems and various third-party applications (eg, accounting software, CRM, inventory management).
- Ensure all payment integration processes adhere strictly to industry standards and regulations, including PCI-DSS compliance.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for all integration procedures.
- Provide training and support to internal teams and clients regarding integrated payment solutions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in technical support, particularly with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Experience with payment processing and integrating payment gateways is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with various hardware components (eg, POS terminals, printers, scanners) and software troubleshooting.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi).
- Knowledge of database concepts is a plus.
- Understanding of security standards like PCI-DSS is a strong asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for on-site visits.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed for installations.
