Our client in Washington, DC is seeking a Field Support Technician to join their IT operations team, providing hands-on technical support across multiple locations including field offices and onboard train environments. This role focuses on imaging, configuring, and maintaining Windows-based systems and POS equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system deployments, troubleshooting, and supporting mobile and connected devices. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires technical proficiency, clear communication skills, and the ability to travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy and configure Windows OS, including system imaging, application installations, BIOS/driver updates, and patch management.
  • Support installation and configuration of SQL Server on endpoints.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including tablets, peripherals, and POS systems.
  • Set up and resolve connectivity issues for Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
  • Maintain and update systems using Microsoft Intune and SCCM.
  • Assist in writing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation and procedures.
  • Execute and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts (experience preferred).
  • Provide on-site technical support at crew bases and aboard trains as needed.
  • Lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
