Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to provide comprehensive hardware and software support to employees and new hires.
This role involves hands-on technical support, inventory and asset management, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional service in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure software and operating systems (Windows/macOS) on desktops and laptops
- Provide IMAC (Installations, Moves, Additions, Changes) and remote support
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and mobile device issues across platforms
- Support printer installation, maintenance, and break-fix tasks
- Manage hardware refreshes, asset disposal, and redeployment
- Coordinate shipping, data backup, and recovery processes
- Support AV systems and perform regular health checks
- Collaborate with HR and IT teams to onboard new hires
- Generate weekly inventory reports and track hardware distribution
- Liaise with external vendors for repair and dispatch services
- Ensure all resolutions align with company policies and standards
Qualifications & Skills
- 3-5 years of IT support experience preferred
- Proficient in Windows and macOS environments
- Experience with Windows 10 imaging and deployment
- Familiar with networking concepts (TCP/IP, Ethernet, Windows Networking)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Autopilot and Intune
- Experience using remote troubleshooting tools (e.g., Remote Desktop, TeamViewer, or similar)
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and other productivity tools
- Strong understanding of networked printers and server queue management
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs and travel between office locations
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Certifications
- MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional)
- CompTIA A+
A candidate's pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to HCL policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to HCL policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off (PTO) per year (some positions are eligible for unlimited PTO); and 10 paid holidays per year.
