As a member of the Global Sales and Services business unit, our HVM Field Software Engineering team is the on-site application expert in improving process run on our tool sets at our customer locations. In this role, the Field Software Engineer will be in charge of troubleshooting, upgrading, and testing the software running our Inspection and ensuring the ASM products meet our customer's requirements.
The Field Software Engineer is a key customer interface and must demonstrate responsibility and proper communication when interacting with the customer. Delivering customer satisfaction is a key objective in this role.
Key Responsibilities : - Troubleshoot computer software, including embedded software for control systems
- Investigate customer software concerns/issues. Offer structured problem analysis, solutions, or alternatives as a result of these investigations
- Aligning and driving required upgrade execution plans per agreed upon documentation, understand project deliverables, align with key stakeholders, and understand critical milestones.
- Maintaining documentation on known issues, solutions, and workarounds for the software, as well as creating and updating the Action AR Tracker for meetings/software upgrades and issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, GPS/TPS, and development teams to ensure the software is meeting customer requirements.
- Escalating critical issues to the appropriate teams or individuals when necessary and communicating the status of the issue to customers or end-users in a timely manner.
- Create software request in JIRA with clear and concise details
- Work at and travel to customer sites to support installations, training, and troubleshooting of ASM products.
- Understand SECS/GEM Standard to engage ASM tool and customer specific host implementation
Education and Requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering or another Engineering degree with a strong focus in software.
- Programming language knowledge, including but not limited to C,C , C , Python and/or Delphi (Pascal).
- Ability to read code and understand the functionality implemented and the ability to translate the functionality into another piece of software
- Have a basic understanding of network architecture or above
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- High motivation, enthusiasm, and curiosity to learn.
- Interested in working with new products, testing them and becoming a system level expert.
Must understand the Intellectual Property boundaries between ASM and the Customer and be able to maintain IP, as appropriate, during all external and internal interactions.
