Our client is the North American division of a global leader in industrial blending equipment, serving customers across the plastics and powder coatings industries. With a small, family-oriented U.S. team and strong support from their German parent company, they've built a reputation for high-quality equipment and responsive service. As their business continues to grow across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, they're looking to add a hands-on and self-motivated Field Service Engineer who's just as comfortable troubleshooting a PLC system as they are scheduling the next customer site visit.


Position Overview

This role combines field service expertise with team coordination. You'll perform mechanical and electrical service work on equipment across North America, provide PLC-level support (primarily Allen-Bradley), and help manage the scheduling of both your own service calls and those of your fellow technicians. When you're not traveling, you'll work from the company's facility in Greer, SC, supporting customers remotely and coordinating the service calendar.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical, electrical, and PLC (Allen-Bradley and Siemens) service at customer sites across North America
  • Support equipment startups, functional testing, and on-site customer training
  • Offer remote troubleshooting and technical support via phone or email
  • Coordinate and schedule customer visits for yourself and the service team
  • Assist with in-house customer trials and equipment preparation
  • Promote aftermarket parts and services as needed
  • Maintain test equipment and contribute to general warehouse upkeep
  • Travel internationally for occasional training at the company's German headquarters
  • Submit travel expenses via company-provided credit card or expense reporting system

Travel Details

  • Travel is required approximately 35-40% of the time
  • Trips typically range from 1-5 days, with most employees back home for the weekend
  • Occasional international travel (about two weeks) to Germany for training
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided for personal vehicle use based on national guidelines

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs required; Siemens PLC experience is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Solid organizational and communication skills for managing service schedules
  • Willingness to travel throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico
  • Must be capable of working independently and professionally in customer-facing settings
  • Ability to obtain a passport
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working overtime when needed

Location Requirement

  • This is an in-office role when not traveling
  • Candidates must be based near or willing to commute to the Greer, SC facility
