What you will be Doing:
Travel regionally and at times domestically to Delta customer locations to troubleshoot, service, repair, or provide maintenance services on a variety of products under the Delta Energy and Telecom Business Unit portfolio. Follow Delta, and end customer site access requirements, status reporting, statements of work, and electrical safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Strong, physically fit individual able to work outdoors 90% of the time.
- Desire to learn the installation, operations, and maintenance of EV, PVI (Solar), PCS, and Energy Storage Products.
- Previous installation experience with AC or DC power products.
- Detail-oriented personality, excellent problem-solving skills, and Familiarity with AC/DC electrical power systems.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy components, work from height, and work from the ground.
- Perform routine troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs to restore EV, Solar, and Energy Storage systems to baseline operating conditions.
- Handle inbound telephone calls from tech support engineers, or directly from customer owners to provide remote support to troubleshoot problems in the field and to activate new site equipment as they are installed.
- Follow-up on email reported issues and interface with customers to understand details of reported problems.
- Provide on-site technical services to support electricians or customer contractors installing new EV, Solar, or Energy Storage equipment, and diagnose and repair equipment in the field.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and EV charging test sets, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Remove and replace defective components.
- Configure and support electronic and digital devices used to monitor and control equipment (e.g. network router, modems, and cellular signal repeaters).
- Work with Technical Support Engineers to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Capture via software, photograph, or written report equipment data for analysis and processing.
- Authorize work to contract resources and maintain up to date market schedules. Ensure project closeout is submitted internally, and to clients when work has been completed. Expected travel is about 95% in market capacity.
What we require (Skills and Background):
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in a related electrical, HVAC, or mechanical/electrical engineering is preferred.
- Prior training in OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA70E, Electrical Safety Certification
- Previous experience in a field service technician or a similar role in high voltage AC or DC environment.
- Knowledge of high voltage electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to find solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment and perform tasks such as lifting, standing, climbing, and bending for long periods.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
- Must have a good driving record
