About the Role at C Speed:
C Speed is seeking to hire a Field Service Representative II to support the DHS Customs & Border Patrol Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) Operations in El Paso, TX. C Speed, LLC is an innovative product development and engineering services company serving, fast-growing radar technology company that provides domestic and international aerospace and defense, and commercial customers with radar surveillance solutions. The TARS program provides persistent surveillance along the southern US borders and C Speed supports this mission by providing integrated logistics services to the program. The Field Service Representative II will work under the direction of the Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) Logistics Depot Lead. Due to the variety of work products, successful candidates will need a flexible and adaptable skill set with a strong learning orientation. The FSR II will participate in the installation, troubleshoot, repair and support of a wide range of Aerostat equipment and systems. The candidate must possess strong technical and mechanical skills with the ability to multitask and collaborate with the TARS Logistics Depot Leads, site personnel, and government customers to work within the defines of TARS site mission requirements and provide solutions to operational issues. The candidate must be able to track operation component needs and submit material purchase requests. Travel obligations are on an as-required basis.
Job Responsibilities
• Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems with mechanical equipment.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of mechanical design as aerostat performance.
• Generates and performs corrective and preventative maintenance on TARS mechanical systems.
• Generate and perform Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), Field Directives, and Field Modification Procedures (FMPs).
• Assists in conducting Root Cause analyses for TARS system issues and events.
• Perform site installations and government acceptance testing of TARS systems and subsystems.
• Assist technicians at remote locations with troubleshooting mechanical systems for isolating failures.
• Trains other personnel in aerostat mechanical and electrical subsystem troubleshooting and repairs.
• Identify obsolescent components and work with the design team in finding alternate solutions.
• Identifies system deficiencies and recommends design changes to reduce risk and increase reliability.
• Travel will be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in related field. Additional Years' experience can substitute in place of a formal degree.
• Ability to travel to multiple sites across the Southern border.
• 2-5 yrs FSR experience in the following
o Mechanical Maintenance with qualifications at the 10 or 20 series or greater level from Army MOS or other military branch equivalent or industry occupational specialties as a National Institute for ASE Certified Truck Mechanical or FAA General Mechanic I or greater.
• Ability to pass Aerostat Basic Training Course.
• Successfully completed Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination and issuance of DHS Suitability determination.
• Valid U.S. Driver's license.
• Proof of U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior TARS Aerostat experience is preferred.
• Industry Specific Certification.
• Ability to become certified in-flight operation roles.
• Experience with Aerial Work Platforms, Forklifts, cranes, and Fall Protection.
• Confined Space Entry experience.
Clearance Qualifications
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain & maintain a DHS CBP clearance
