Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Job Description

Join our team as a Field Service Engineer and provide top-notch technical support and troubleshooting services. You will work directly with customers both remotely and on-site to install, repair, and optimize equipment. This role involves systematic analysis, troubleshooting, equipment commissioning, and customer training. Additionally, you will create detailed service reports and lead training for less experienced personnel. This role requires significant travel and offers the flexibility of being based remotely within specified regions.

Job Duties
  • Systematically and efficiently analyze, troubleshoot, and restore function to equipment

  • Commission equipment and follow standard procedures to ensure customer satisfaction and successful handoff

  • Review work completed, costs, time, and additional work identified while on site with manager and customer as needed

  • Create thorough and detailed service reports that include description of visit, work completed, costs, time, and additional work identified

  • Conduct customer training relating to the operation and maintenance of equipment and products

  • Lead and train less experience personnel as needed

  • Follow standardized procedures

  • Collect requisite information to create standardized procedures when opportunities are identified

  • Write, program, and troubleshoot PLCs

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Musts
  • 3+ years of field service experience

  • Knowledge of electrical components (high voltage 480V/220V, low voltage, fuses, relays, contactors, motors)

  • Basic understanding of mechanical assemblies (conveyors, sprockets, belts, pulleys, gearboxes, pumps)

  • Experience with injection molding/extrusion or process molding equipment

  • Knowledge of pneumatic conveying and troubleshooting (controls, actuators, and valves)

  • Ability to read electrical schematics
