FIELD OPERATIONS COACH
FULL-TIME, (40+ WEEKLY HOURS) EXEMPT LEVEL POSITION
Position Summary:
The Field Operations Coach role is to observe, diagnose, and assist stores with action plans on store operations. This role will also be an integral part of the New Store Opening team, the Manager in Training program, specifically the leadership development side and creating a Certified Training Store. The Field Operations Coach will use store visits to coach and teach all members of the team on Blake's processes and procedures. Ultimately, it is the duty of the Field Operations Coach to coach the stores to run cleaner, safer, and more efficiently by providing feedback and following upon actionable items. The Field Operations Coach works along with the Operations Team and reports to the Operations Services Manager.
Essential Functions:
Verify and validate training and establish plans with Operations Manager/District Manager.
Assists Stores with food safety, crew member safety, cash handling, equipment, and facilities by identifying and explaining areas of improvement, expectations and getting feedback.
Responsible for training and retaining crew members on all specifications and procedures inclusive of all positions.
Able to motivate all crew members to perform safely and efficiently with the customer in mind.
Supports Manager in Training Program and validates progress.
Ensure that all crew members comply with all Blake's Lotaburger's Policies & Procedures, working in conjunction with the management team to enforce the policies through appropriate coaching and feedback.
Develops Store level Trainers and is responsible for their progress and results.
Responsible for creating Certified Training Stores to train new managers and crew.
Ensures New Hires complete all required training.
Use in-store visits to answer ExpandShare questions, gather feedback and assist with how to implement that feedback.
Leads a training team for New Store Openings.
Weekly 1:1 with Operations Services Manager.
Reports to Operations Services Manager.
Other duties/projects as assigned.
Will include some overnight travel.
Full availability to work all shifts.
Qualifications/Requirements (Education/Training/Experience/Abilities):
Ideal candidate will have one or more years of training experience.
Full ability to work at least 40+ hours per week, including varying evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Flexibility is critical for Trainers. Trainers adapt to their audience.
Ability to work on an on-call basis when needed and travel between AZ, NM and TX as needed.
Knows and embodies the Core Values of Blake's Lotaburger.
Appearance must be professional, neat, clean, and well-groomed.
Must report to all shifts in uniforms. Visible tattoos must be appropriate, neck tattoos are prohibited.
Must be proficient in Blake's Lotaburger restaurant operations, Policies and Procedures, and Book 1.
Must have expert understanding of communication styles, learning styles and adult learning methods.
Basic computer skills, including a basic understanding of how to review and create/send electronic mail.
Must be able to learn Blake's Lotaburger's computer system to assist in reviewing coursework.
Must possess strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to read/write/speak English
Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
Ability to read, understand, apply, enforce, and adhere to policies and procedures.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
ServSafe Manager Certified
This position may require some overnight travel.
Essential Physical/Emotional Requirements:
Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted and 50 lbs. assisted, ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; bend, stoop, climb and reach. The ability to work in a warm/hot area at times, cold (walk-ins/freezers) environment is a must.
Must be able to safely work with knives and other sharp objects, wearing any necessary personal protective equipment when needed.
Work well with others in a team environment, often sharing tasks and/or collaborating on solutions.
Work scheduled hours while physically present in the restaurant.
Ability to see and hear.
Ability to multitask and work under stressful conditions in a quick service restaurant environment, dealing with customers and other employees. Tolerate a reasonable amount of stress.
Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations either with customers or other employees using tactful, appropriate, and effective communication.
