Field Hockey Assistant Coach

Position: Assistant Field Hockey Coach (SY 25-26) (Stipend)

Department: Athletics

Reports to: Director of Athletics

Affiliation: Unit A, Section F

Salary range: $4,707.00 - $5,613.00 stipend

Time Commitment:

• Six days a week
• Twenty to twenty-five hours a week
• Three games a week
• Season Length- 8/19/2025-11/23/2025

Number of Positions: 3

This is a stipend position.

SUMMARY:

The Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding assistant coach to coach the field hockey team for the school year. WPS is dedicated to excellence, equity, and community. Be a part of creating a bright future for WPS students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coach the team they are assigned to.
• Take over the duties of the head coach when not present.
• Assist in coaching at practices and games.
• Implement practice plans.
• Oversee scouting of opposition.
• Be a liaison between captains and head coach.
• Coordinate with the athletic office the rosters, awards, and medical issues tasks.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• CPR certified
• NFHS concussion course completed

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience coaching field hockey
• Communicate clearly and effectively.
