Project Overview: Bechtel Renewables team is to deliver the project management, engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and testing services for a utility-scale PV solar project, located near the town of Tivoli in Refugio County, Texas. When completed, the project will span more than 3400 acres and generate up to 495 MWdc of power from approximately 850,000 highly efficient bifacial solar modules. The project is awaiting Limited/Final Notice to Proceed. This position is contingent upon that final award.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provides automation support to teams on project, including setup, training, application and process, software quality assurance and control, reporting, database administration, and close-out of all construction automation software's and applications
  • Arranges, prepares, and conducts meetings, workshops, and presentations as required Develop and implement a comprehensive Automation plan that will define the execution and the approach to project IT architecture including IT infrastructure, automation systems, and the integration platform
  • Evaluates and coordinates the implementation of new automation modules and tools Tests and supports data integration of new releases of production software/programs
  • Customizes applications as required by site leadership
  • Assists preparation of user guides, training material, and training
  • Coordinates performance curves, metrics, trackers, and user feedback to show trends and use in improvements
  • Applies knowledge of database management, programming skills, and 3D tools, to support team and project construction planning, work packaging, progress reporting, material management, turnover/completions, workforce management and timekeeping
  • Coordinate construction requirements with project IT lead/manager to ensure they're incorporated in the project automation plan

  • Coordinate Field IT infrastructure and automation deployment scope on the project and ensure that the IT systems are delivered on time to support schedule
  • Field IT support including end-user support of project personnel, IT equipmentsoftware specification, and purchasing
  • Ensure compliance with the necessary automation information security measures
  • Ensure that appropriate change management procedures are implemented and enforced
  • Coordinate automation issues and responses among Bechtel Engineering, Procurement, Contractor Construction, Subcontractors, suppliers, and other project execution locations
  • Provide oversight for project application data integration, data quality, and data handover
Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, coordination skills with the project, customer, peer groups (within and outside IS&T), and related stakeholders.

Proven record in IT infrastructure implementation at project sites. (Preferred)

Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of EPC automation tools

Thorough knowledge of project/application work processes

Understanding of industry principles and regulatory requirements around data integration and data delivery (e.g. ISO1950) (Preferred)

Prior knowledge and use of data analytics and reporting (e.g. Power BI)

Knowledge of the software and integration architecture of the core EPC applications (e.g. Autodesk, P6).

Must be able to obtain the right to work and remain the in the United States.
