What you will be Doing:
A Field Application Engineer (FAE) specializing in utility-scale and commercial-grade Power Conversion System (PCS) is responsible for providing high-level technical expertise to support product management, sales, and other functional groups. The role is critical in ensuring technical success and customer satisfaction across the business, partners, and customers, particularly in the context of Delta Electronics and similar organizations
Job Objectives
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Product Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of inverter and converter product lines, including their application, system operations, and management across the Delta product lines.
- Customer and Sales Support: Work closely with sales teams to understand customer needs, develop engineering solutions, and advocate for those solutions with customers. Support the commissioning and troubleshooting of large-scale power conversion systems (PCS) and legacy product issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, product management to track project status, review documentation, and ensure accurate application of products in the field. Working closely with HQs and Factory in Asia.
- Field Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze field data to diagnose root causes of technical issues, presenting findings to hardware design teams for resolution.
- Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and support service, return merchandise authorization (RMA), and factory initiatives for North American and global operations.
- Documentation and Training: Contribute to product documentation, create maintenance and repair procedures, and provide training to field and customer support teams.
- Travel: Willingness to travel (approximately 25% of the time) for on-site support, commissioning, and customer engagement, including potential international trips
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) is required; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Experience: At least 2+ years of professional experience with power conversion systems (PCS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), or uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), with a preference for utility power experience (480 to 690 Vac).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting power electronics, commissioning procedures, and using relevant test equipment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools.
Preferred
- Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus.
- A valid electrical license or certification is preferred.
- Able to travel out of state and country.
- Drive to continuously increase technical abilities and expand technical knowledge.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Effective verbal and presentation skills and knowledge of using Microsoft Office products.
- Detailed and results oriented with a strong sense of initiative in tackling tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and activities at one time.
