KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Engage with customers to negotiate technical specifications and performance trade-offs, ensuring alignment with their system and module needs while promoting Lumentum's product benefits.
- Participate in customer design reviews and provide thorough technical responses to RFI/RFQs.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team and customers to gather requirements and application use cases effectively.
- Assist targeted customers in setting up transceiver modules at their locations, troubleshoot prototypes, and develop tailored solutions that facilitate successful design-ins of our products.
Develop and manage essential customer product documentation, which may include corrective actions, detailed analysis reports, manufacturing test plans, performance improvement plans, and reliability qualification plans and reports.
- Oversee the Product Change Notification process (PCN) in collaboration with customers and engineering teams.
- Engage in critical Failure Analysis, Corrective Action, and Lessons Learned activities to enhance product performance.

- A degree in physical sciences, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of engineering experience in designing, developing, or testing coherent optical modules and components, particularly in active products like DSPs, receivers, modulators, and lasers.
- Experience in product development and NPI processes within an optical components/modules company or a system OEM.
- Hands-on knowledge of transceiver hardware, including firmware/hardware interface specifications and testing.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Familiarity with device firmware structures and functionalities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of standards documents such as CMIS, C-CMIS, Ethernet, and Infiniband.
- Acquainted with popular switch/router platforms and ONTs, including Arista, Cisco, Juniper, and Nvidia.
- Proficiency in Python is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required, with an emphasis on strong written communication skills.
