Position Overview

Field AE's are part of the sales organization. Their primary purpose is to provide the technical support needed to drive successful sales campaigns and grow our business. Most of the activities will be pre-sales, but at times may include post-sale technical support critical to maintaining customer satisfaction or achieving successful deployment. This position focuses on the Calibre product family for physical verification of IC's.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following activities:
  • Uncover information about physical design and physical verification flows and challenges in customer/prospect environments
  • Assess product fit versus customer needs and challenges
  • Work with area sales management, account teams, and customers to understand business opportunities
  • Deliver presentations on Calibre topics during the sales process
  • Deliver product demonstrations during the sales process
  • Provide technical support for customer evaluations of Calibre family products
  • Execute successful benchmarks on customer designs
  • Provide on-site support during enablement, integration, and deployment and when issues arise with the use of Siemens EDA software products
  • Contribute technical strategies to sales plans and communicate with peers and field technical management on progress and account status
  • Work with marketing and product managers to define new products and product capabilities and provide insight from a field perspective
  • Establish strategies to broaden target applications and use cases for software products
The job will be based in Austin, TX, with as much as 10% travel.

Job Qualifications
  • Deep technical expertise in physical verification using Calibre solutions and/or other commercial PVX tools totaling at least 5 years experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Calibre solutions required. DRC (Design Rule Checking), LVS (Layout vs. Schematic) and ERC (Electrical Rule Checks) experience required. PEX (Parasitic Extraction), PERC (Programmable Electrical Rule Checking) and Sift-Left tolos preferred.
  • Understanding of commercial IC physical design flows
  • Ability to uncover new business opportunities and stimulate the market for growth
  • Advanced understanding of technology/science and able to explain and optimize results
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and document all activities based on business ROI
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Can present confidently to large audiences.
  • Can write advanced complex scripts and rule decks
  • Familiarity with job submission for large PV runs in compute farm and/or cloud environment
  • Awareness of competitive tool requirements, net lists/interfaces
  • Expert level scripting/programming skills preferred. Basic level experience required.
  • Proactive self-starter with a focus on results
  • Experience in a pre-sales Applications Engineering role preferred
  • BSEE or BSCS or equivalent required. MSEE preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Normal Office Environment / Hybrid Option

• Significant on-site time with customers

• Some air travel required

• Some overnight business travel required

• Total overnight travel estimated at less than 20%

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The total cash compensation range for this position is $142,800 to $285,600 with 20% of this being comprised of an annual incentive target. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
