A well-established and highly respected law firm seeks an experienced Fiduciary/Tax Accountant to directly support a small team of attorneys to spearhead the preparation and execution of fiduciary tax returns for approximately 20 high-net-worth clients. This role offers the opportunity to manage a broad range of trust and estate matters while being cross trained in various areas within the firm.

Term: Full Time/Permanent

Location: Voorhees, NJ

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041)
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals in the administration of probate, trusts, and estates, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Draft and prepare inheritance, estate (Form 706), and gift tax returns.
  • Develop and maintain fiduciary accounting
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and addressing their inquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to ensure the efficient and effective management of client matters
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work deliverables

Qualifications:

  • 3 -10+ years of experience in client tax return preparation
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal certificate
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience in preparing complex tax returns, with a focus on fiduciary returns
  • 3+ years of experience in fiduciary accounting is highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate
  • Prior experience with trust and estate administration and planning is preferred
  • Prior experience working in a legal setting preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
