A well-established and highly respected law firm seeks an experienced Fiduciary/Tax Accountant to directly support a small team of attorneys to spearhead the preparation and execution of fiduciary tax returns for approximately 20 high-net-worth clients. This role offers the opportunity to manage a broad range of trust and estate matters while being cross trained in various areas within the firm.
Term: Full Time/Permanent
Location: Voorhees, NJ
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041)
- Assist attorneys and paralegals in the administration of probate, trusts, and estates, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
- Draft and prepare inheritance, estate (Form 706), and gift tax returns.
- Develop and maintain fiduciary accounting
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and addressing their inquiries with professionalism and empathy
- Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to ensure the efficient and effective management of client matters
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work deliverables
Qualifications:
- 3 -10+ years of experience in client tax return preparation
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal certificate
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Preferred:
- 3+ years of experience in preparing complex tax returns, with a focus on fiduciary returns
- 3+ years of experience in fiduciary accounting is highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate
- Prior experience with trust and estate administration and planning is preferred
- Prior experience working in a legal setting preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
