BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn. is NYC's longest-running, free performance festival, and a beloved summer tradition featuring approximately 25 varied large-scale performances and attracting upwards of 200,000 people each summer to the Prospect Park Bandshell.
About the Green Team Role:
BRIC seeks a Green Team Leader whose primary responsibilities includes scheduling and overseeing daily clean-up of all site and facilities for the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn. Festival.
What You'll Do in the Role:
The Green Team Leader will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by the Operations Manager or Site Manager:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire and train all Green Team Staff (site clean-up staff).
- Supervise, schedule and assist all Green Team, ensuring they are at their assigned posts and have all instruction and supplies to successfully carry out their responsibilities.
- Ensure all Green Team staff work in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
- Coordinate with the Parks Department to schedule and oversee the loading of garbage trucks after each show.
- Must be available to work every performance at the Bandshell.
- Communicate with the Site Coordinator about needed site repairs and supplies.
- Ensure accurate sign-in and sign-out timekeeping for all Green Team staff, including timely approval in ADP.
Day of Show Duties:
- Ensure the site is clean throughout and ready for opening each day.
- Ensure all backstage restrooms, public restrooms and portable toilets are clean, stocked and ready for heavy daily use.
- Ensure portable toilets are serviced by contractors as per schedule.
- Work directly with the Green Team to pick-up and bag trash throughout the show and at the end of each show, leaving the site and perimeter clean for the next day.
- Coordinate breaks for Green Team staff.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to be on one's feet and walk festival grounds and nearby vicinity.
- Willingness to work outdoors, early mornings, late nights, long days, and weekend shifts, and to work in inclement weather.

- Experience & Skills: The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal and leadership skills and is able to work under pressure and in inclement weather. The ideal candidate must have the ability to supervise and delegate work. A minimum of four years of previous experience as a Maintenance/Janitorial Supervisor for a venue, school or other large capacity facility is preferred. Bilingual a plus.

- Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $21.00
- Status and location: This is a part-time, non-exempt role based at the Lena Horne Bandshell at Prospect Park. The Festival Operations Intern is expected to be available and on site for all performances between June 7 - August 23 in addition to training days in late May.
