Job Function:

The FCS Application Engineer provides technical support and product expertise for mono- couplings, multi-couplings, robotic tool changers, and quick mold change systems. The individual must handle daily technical inquiries, assist sales teams with customer engagements, recommend suitable products or collaborate with R&D in developing custom solutions for unique applications, and create tailored quotations. Additionally, the position involves collaborating with European factory representatives to ensure project alignment and success.

Reports to:

FCS Applications Manager - North America

Responsibilities and Objectives:
  • Handle day-to-day technical questions from salesmen, customer service and customers about the mono-coupling, multi-coupling, robotic tool changer, and quick mold change product lines.
  • Be available during work hours to assist outside sales team on virtual and in-person customer meetings that require expert level product knowledge.
  • Assist potential customers in determining which specific products best fit the customer's application from a standard product portfolio.
  • Coordinate with the customer, engineering, & outside sales teams to develop customized solutions for applications that the standard product portfolio do not fit.
  • Prepare quotations for customized products while balancing the best fit for the customer application & cost effectiveness.
  • Liaison with European factory representatives on open projects
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or 2-4 years relevant experience in the fluid power industry.
  • Experience with low voltage electrical circuits & systems.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Industrial Ethernet, ProfiNET, & Modbus TCP is a plus.
  • Experience with PLC systems and I/O mapping is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. SAP & Aurea CRM experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to read manufacturing drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to speak Spanish, French, or German a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively with teams at all levels of the organization.
Physical Requirements:
  • Periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
  • Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate equipment.
Work schedule:
  • Willingness to travel as required both domestically and internationally (up to 15%)
