This is a full-time position at the Wheatland Farm that is responsible for tending crops and livestock; the operation and maintenance of farm vehicles, machinery, equipment, and facilities; and the performance of other duties pertaining to farming and livestock operations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.


  • Planting, cultivating, irrigating, harvesting, and putting up hay, corn, and other feed crops.
  • Mixing, utilizing, and/or dispensing volatile compounds, including fuels, paint, fertilizer, and exterminating agents such as herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides.
  • May be required to keep records and prepare reports regarding crops, fields, and machinery maintenance.
  • Operating and maintaining vehicles, agricultural and construction machinery and equipment in accordance with verbal instructions and those provided in operator's manuals.
  • Building, repairing, and maintaining corral and pasture fences, pens, and other farm and ranch facilities.
  • Feeding and caring for livestock, including cows, calves, bulls, stocker cattle, and horses.
  • May be required to work with cattle on foot, including herding to pasture for grazing and transferring between pastures and working facilities.
  • Receiving, comprehending, and following directions issued by supervisor.

  • Two (2) years of direct agriculture-related experience.
  • A two (2) - year agriculture-related degree preferred.
  • Experience/training with Precision Agriculture equipment preferred.
  • Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certificate or willingness to achieve certificate within three (3) months.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • English language fluency, verbal and written.
  • Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
