Bethel Farms is a large sod company based in Arcadia, Florida with over 4500 acres of sod production, over 200 employees, and has been family-owned since 1958.
They are seeking a skilled Farm Diesel Mechanic to perform vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs onsite. This role is ideal for someone with a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail and analytical skillsets who enjoys working in a family oriented and supportive environment.

Requirements:
• Travel to and from various farm locations to provide maintenance and repairs onsite.
• Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, test operation, and make adjustments as necessary.
• Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.
• Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools.
• Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery.
• Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, and other machine tools.
• Record details of repairs made, parts used, labor required.
• Repair bent or torn sheet metal.
• Clean and lubricate parts.
• Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools.
• Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with operators to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
• Repair agricultural irrigation, plumbing, and sprinkler systems, e.g. pivots, laterals.
• Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, forklifts, and mowers.
• Diagnose and repair automated sod harvesters and mowers.
• Other Duties & Responsibilities as assigned.
Experience:
• 3-5 yrs. heavy duty diesel mechanic experience fixing equipment such as tractors, harvesters, seeders, and sprayers.
• Valid FL driver s license, CDL preferred.
• Must have own tools.
• Certification/licensing preferred.
• Experience with disassembling engine parts, connecting or attaching components, and using hand tools, with a steady hand and good hand-eye coordination.
• Must be familiar with engine components and systems and know how they interact with each other. Experience with disassembling and reassembling major parts for repairs.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment, tools, and parts.
• Must have experience trouble shooting and using diagnostic equipment to find the source of malfunctions when they are difficult to identify.
