We are actively interviewing candidates who have an interest in continuing to build our Total Joint Services.
The Total Joint Surgeon will play an active role in the ongoing development of the orthopedic service line at Waterbury Hospital.
A community teaching facility affiliated with both Yale and Quinnipiac Universities, Waterbury Hospital is a 300+ bed, Level II trauma center. Collaboratively, we have been developing total joint services with the hospital, which now includes a same day program, a hip fracture fast track protocol, as well as robust hospital to home programs supported through several clinical areas including Rehabilitation and VNA service lines.
At Waterbury Hospital, orthopedics is supported through a dedicated OR team, and a department of seven orthopedic Physician Assistants who provide call coverage and first assist in the OR. Additionally, the hospital provides a dedicated surgical floor, with an orthopedic "wing" for post-operative recovery.
