Public Health and Preventive Medicine Residency Program Director


Geisinger Lewistown


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic direction of the Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency Program.
  • Maintain program accreditation in accordance with ACGME RRC and relevant boards.
  • Recruit, interview, and select residents and faculty.
  • Develop and implement resident performance evaluations based on ACGME Milestones.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum.
  • Ensure faculty development and participation in scholarly activities.
  • Oversee didactic education and ensure compliance with institutional requirements.
  • Participate in research, scholarly activities, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Specialty expertise and documented educational and administrative experience.
  • Current certification from the American Board of Preventive Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Preventive Medicine.
  • Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment.
  • Minimum of three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience.

Accountability/FTE Allocation:

  • The Program Director will report to the Chief Education Officer and Vice Dean GME of Geisinger Health System.
  • The position is allocated at 0.5 FTE. The Program Director may practice in their specialty for additional FTE.
