Experienced Family Practice Nurse Practitioner needed for a locum tenens assignment in Washington. This 48-day opportunity, starting 05/21/2025 involves working at a hospital-based practice serving a diverse patient population. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, with four 10-hour shifts per week. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing complex chronic diseases and willing to establish care for new patients, with the intention of transitioning them to the returning provider upon completion of the assignment. This role offers the potential for extension and requires an active Washington NP license.

Responsibilities and Duties:


• Provide comprehensive family medicine care to a diverse patient population


• Manage complex chronic diseases, particularly in older patients


• Establish care for new patients and integrate them into the practice


• Conduct routine check-ups, physical examinations, and health screenings


• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses


• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans


• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies


• Provide patient education on preventive care and disease management


• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed


• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Cerner EMR


• Ensure smooth transition of patient care to the returning provider


• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity


Additional Information:


• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Washington


• Experience with diverse patient populations preferred


• Comfort with managing complex chronic diseases in older patients required


• Proficiency with Cerner EMR system a plus


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to quickly establish rapport with new patients
