Primary Care Physician - Indian Health Service (IHS)

Scope:
The Contractor shall provide Primary Care Physician services at the Santa Fe Indian Health Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Santa Fe Indian Health Center primarily serves nine Pueblos: San Felipe, Cochiti, Santo Domingo, Tesuque, Pojoaque, Nambe, San Ildefonso, Santa Clara and Ohkay Owinge. Santa Fe Indian Health Center offers several specialty clinics, including Pediatric, Family Medicine, Physical Therapy and Behavioral Health.

Expected Schedule:
- Santa Fe: Sunday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m., including evenings, weekends and federal holidays. Expect 40 hours a week or more if desired.
- Satellite Clinics (San Felipe, Santa Clara and Chochiti) operate Monday Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm excluding federal holidays. The likelihood of covering satelite clinics is low to none.
Requirements:
- Graduated from an accredited School of Medicine with a MD/DO Diploma.
- Current, unrestricted state medical license from ANY of the 50 states or Puerto Rico.
- Maintain updated continuing education certificates.
- Current BLS/ACLS/PALS/DEA (any state)
- Board Certified on Family Medicine or Med/Peds. Experience preferred, not mandatory.
- 3 letters of recommendations from peers or program director.
Expected Duties:
- Primary Care Physician performs clinical services, responsibilities and functions to include but not limited to medical history, physical examination, diagnosis of medical conditions of patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric, ordering of appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays, if necessary.
- Counsel and educate patients, families, community, and medical staff about health care.
- Prescribe drugs and tests necessary to provide quality health care including the use of radiology and laboratory services.
- Become familiar with and be guided by the Indian Health Service formulary and shall follow IHS procedures when prescribing drugs.
- Participate in a continual process of quality of health care evaluation to assure the provision of quality services.
- Strive for excellence in providing general family medicine medical services.
- Comply with all IHS facility infection control and safety procedures, practices, and standards.
- Coordinates efforts on behalf of the patient and family with other agencies or health facilities for admission to hospitals, alcohol/drug treatment rehabilitation facilities, etc.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $140.00-$150.00 based on experience. Expect 290-310k per year.
This is a 1099 position, independent contractor.

Air Travel included from home to Santa Fe or Albuquerque (at the beginning and end of the tour of duty)
Rental or Company Car provided.
Housing Allowance for non-local physicians.
