Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Geriatric Physician for a locum tenens position at a Clinic in Missouri. This comprehensive opportunity offers coverage starting 09/29/2025, for an initial contract of 120 days, with potential for extension. The assignment involves working weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:20 PM, managing a diverse caseload of geriatric patients across high-risk, emerging risk, and low-risk categories. The ideal candidate should be tech-savvy, organized, and have a strong background in geriatrics and preventative medicine. This role requires excellent coding and charting skills, as well as a patient-centered approach to care. The primary goal is to provide comprehensive care that keeps patients out of the hospital, focusing on preventative measures and personalized treatment plans.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive geriatric care for patients across various risk levels
  • Manage high-risk (15-20%), emerging risk (10-20%), and low-risk (70-80%) cases
  • Implement preventative medicine strategies to keep patients out of the hospital
  • Conduct thorough patient examinations and develop personalized care plans
  • Accurately code and chart patient encounters using eClinicalWorks EHR system
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Stay updated on the latest geriatric care practices and treatment options
  • Educate patients and their families on health management and preventive measures
  • Participate in care team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures

Additional Information:

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in Missouri
  • Board certification in Geriatric Medicine required
  • Strong background in preventative medicine preferred
  • Proficiency in eClinicalWorks EHR system is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment
