The Regional Medical Director Physician provides clinical and administrative leadership, directly supervising physicians and advanced practice providers within a designated region. This role involves providing clinical consultation, participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, and ensuring high-quality patient care through timely and accurate medical record maintenance and reporting any quality of care issues. The Medical Director will also communicate with healthcare providers and mentor new practitioners, ensuring timely access to care for Veterans. The role requires participation in education and training, risk management activities, and contribution to the recruitment and orientation of new medical staff. This position requires leadership experience and creative problem-solving in managing complex patient cases, with occasional travel to other CBOC locations.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
