Qualifications
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
- Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
- Certification: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Experience: 24 months of experience within the last 36 months in Family Medicine.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Family Practice Physician.
- Internship/Residency Successful completion of an internship and residency program which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association (ie, a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training).
Duties
Evaluation and Treatment of Patients:
- Evaluate and treat emergent, urgent, and non-emergent patients, ranging from newborns to patients over 65 years of age.
- Maintain productivity comparable to other civilian and military physicians assigned to similar facilities with the same scope of practice.
- Assigned an empanelment of approximately 1,250 patients.
- Expected to meet the Air Force Medical Operations Agency (AFMOA) standard of 100 appointments per week, including 80 face-to-face and 20 virtual appointments.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other healthcare professionals within the scope of clinical privileges or responsibilities.
- Examine, diagnose, treat, and prescribe courses of treatment based on training, experience, and privileges.
- Annual physical exams
- Educating on self-care skills through counseling and education.
- Order diagnostic tests as necessary and request consultations or referrals to other physicians, clinics, or health resources as indicated.
Administrative and Quality Improvement Duties:
- Perform peer review for a minimum of 10 routine cases per month.
- Perform an average of 15 Performance Health Assessments (PHAs) per month.
- Perform an average of 5 Medical Evaluation Boards (MEBs) per month.
- Perform an average of 10 deployment clearances per month.
Collaboration and Productivity:
- Maintain a workload that aligns with Air Force Medical Operations Agency (AFMOA) standards for civilian and military physicians.
