We're Different. And We Want You to Be, Too.

At ChenMed, we're making a difference every single day-not just for our patients, but for our team members, too. Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation? Are you driven by ambition and a strong work ethic? Do you inspire others with your kindness and energy?

We're not your typical primary care provider. As we rapidly grow, we're looking for exceptional people to join us and help shape the future of healthcare.

About the Role:

As an Associate Market Clinical Director, you'll lead and mentor Clinical Directors across multiple centers within your market. You'll oversee everything from clinical outcomes to P&L, growth, and culture, ensuring we hit our goals and exceed expectations. In this role, part of your time will be spent providing direct patient care as a PCP or in other clinical duties. The rest of your time will focus on leadership: mentoring Clinical Directors, fostering a strong clinical-operations partnership, and helping cultivate a positive, thriving culture. The exact split between clinical and leadership duties depends on market needs and regional goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Clinical Directors across multiple centers, ensuring clinical outcomes are met and exceeded.

  • Foster a strong, collaborative culture that aligns with ChenMed's core values and behaviors.

  • Mentor and coach Medical Directors, ensuring they deliver top-notch clinical care and leadership.

  • Support talent development by overseeing physician shadowing, coaching, and performance management.

  • Partner with Clinical COE and Talent Acquisition to recruit and retain top-tier physicians and other clinical professionals.

  • Build strong relationships with payers, specialists, and community stakeholders, and grow our local social media presence.

  • Be a hands-on leader-assisting with patient care when needed, and providing backup for referral management and utilization authorizations.

  • Contribute to quality and performance improvement initiatives, driving both clinical and operational success in your market.

  • Provide training, support, and guidance to new practitioners, helping them integrate into the ChenMed family.

Skills and Qualities We Value:

  • Strong clinical expertise, ideally in internal medicine, family medicine, or geriatrics.

  • Experience in managed care, quality improvement, and population risk management.

  • Proven leadership abilities-whether it's mentoring peers, fostering team growth, or navigating complex situations.

  • A passion for patient-centered care, with a deep understanding of how to manage and improve clinical outcomes.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills-comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and external partners.

  • A track record of success in driving results, even in challenging environments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Education and Experience:

  • MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty.

  • At least 2 years of clinical experience; 3 years preferred.

  • Preferably, 1+ years as a Medical Director or in a leadership role with a Medicare/Medicaid population.

  • Board eligibility required; board certification in your specialty is preferred.

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in your state.
