The purpose of this position is to serve as a core team member in providing obstetric care and support services to promote healthy woman, pregnancies, and babies. The RN will promote overall patient health by providing, delegating, evaluating, and coordinating comprehensive professional nursing care.

Work hours: Full-time, hourly position. In order to maintain full-time status, a minimum of 30 hours per week on average are required, though 36 to 40 hours a week will be expected for this position. Hours are subject to change and mendable. Expected work schedule is between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday with some flexibility for 4x 10 hour days or 5x 8 hour days.

Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Clinical Care
  • Participates in patient care as primary nurse for obstetric patients
  • Participate in coordinating woman's health and annual exams
  • Directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures
  • Participates in the initial treatment plan development for all OB patients and maternity support program enrollees and women's health
  • Provide services via telehealth to include education, screening, monitoring and support
  • Call pregnant members enrolled in the Maternity Management program at regular intervals (at minimum each trimester)
  • Assist or coordinate referral of patients to contracted provider partners at appropriate gestation
  • Assure provision of intensive monitoring, follow-up, and clinical management of high-risk patients and/or coordinate referral when appropriate
  • Assist in developing care plans for individuals with co-occurring chronic diseases
  • Assist in contacting medical providers & hospitals for admission/discharge summaries and completing medication reconciliation
  • Develop wellness & prevention initiatives
  • Facilitate health education groups (when applicable)

Team Tasks:
  • Offers leadership and direction to all support staff within department
  • Provide OB specific training on medical diseases, treatments & medications
  • Assist in staff education and tracking of required OB training
  • Track required patient assessments and screenings
  • Assist in implementing health technology programs & initiatives (i.e., Remote monitoring platform, depression screening, interfacing with DRVS and EMR/PM for identification, design and implementation of methods to collect data to facilitate tracking of Obstetric support)
  • Monitor HIT tools & reports for treatment
  • Monitor medication alerts & hospital admissions/discharges
  • Monitor & report performance measures & outcomes
  • Promote FCI OB services and the maternity support program with regard to referrals and growth

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in nursing required
  • Current RN license recognized by the State of Missouri Board of Nursing
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in OB/Maternal care
  • BLS and NRP certification
  • Strong experience with clinical application software
  • Knowledge of nursing care in accordance with regulations and practices established by the Missouri Board of Nursing
  • Consistent demonstration of a team approach to care
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and orally

Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN preferred
  • Experience in case management, telehealth and/or remote monitoring
  • Experience in community health centers
  • Health Educator experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Womens Health/OB-GYN/Mother-Baby/maternity experience
