Position Overview:
As a Family Law Paralegal, you'll support attorneys in all phases of casework - from client intake through final order. Your attention to detail, clear communication, and ability to manage timelines will be critical in helping the firm deliver outstanding service to clients navigating some of life's toughest transitions.
This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys working as part of a team, and aligns with a mission-driven legal practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents, including petitions, discovery, motions, orders, and correspondence
- Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, trial binders, and related documentation
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and filings through state e-filing systems
- Communicate with clients to gather case information, provide updates, and coordinate meetings
- Support attorneys with hearing and trial preparation
- Track billable hours accurately and consistently
- Correspond with courts, opposing counsel, and external vendors
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing team environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a paralegal in family law, with a solid understanding of Texas Civil procedures, filings, and case management.
- Familiarity with legal billing, time tracking, and case management software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Tech-proficient (Microsoft Office, PDF editing tools, and legal databases)
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
Billable Expectations:
- This position includes a monthly billable hourly requirement of 120 hours.
