As a Family Law Attorney at Folkestad Fazekas Barrick & Patoile, P.C., you will represent clients in various family law matters, working on cases involving divorce, custody disputes, child and spousal support, adoption, domestic violence, and property division. You will be responsible for managing cases from start to finish, providing legal counsel, drafting legal documents, and advocating on behalf of clients both in and out of court.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, custody, support, and related issues.
- Provide legal advice and counseling to clients on family law matters.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
- Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes between parties.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances.
- Maintain case files and ensure compliance with deadlines and legal procedures.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
- Stay updated on family law developments, case law, and procedural changes.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Colorado.
- 3-5 years of experience practicing family law.
- Strong understanding of family law statutes and case law.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and client service skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
