Job Location: Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center 300 E. This is a Full time position (may include promotion and/or transfer). General Job Summary: The Family Engagement Coordinator (FEC) is a high-level case management position. The FEC acts as a guide for the family through the court process-identifying strengths and needs, making necessary referrals and monitoring service compliance. The FEC administers multiple evidence-based screening tools, including but not limited to the Ohio Youth Assessment Tool (Diversion and Disposition Tools), the Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) and Expanded ACE, the Trauma Screening Checklist, and drug screening. The FEC also makes regular contact with school personnel and social service providers to supplement information gained through the screening tools. The FEC then develops a family service plan (i.e., programmatic and educational recommendations) based upon all obtained information. This plan is presented to the Magistrate, Defense and Prosecuting Attorneys, and Guardians ad litem, for court proceedings. Regular communication with all attorneys is paramount in keeping updated on cases. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice or Social Service with 2 years of experience. Must be well spoken with strong writing skills and able to work with a multitude of professionals. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for employment noted above. Unusual Working Conditions: Must have valid driver's license; Must be able to sit at a desk, stand, or walk for extended periods. The employee may have to lift, push, pull, or move up to 25lbs.
