The Health faculty models open-mindedness, careful listening, collaboration, and rigorous independent thought. Faculty demonstrate the skills and aptitude to be able to apply a wide variety of instructional approaches that allows them to organize and deliver the content to students in an effective manner and take into account the diverse developmental levels students exhibit. Faculty should have the ability to integrate technology into the curriculum, be flexible in a variety of teaching environments, eager to seek ways to improve themselves professionally and personally, and be capable of meeting the physical demands of performing and modeling the skills taught. The Health faculty creates a learning environment in which students will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy healthy, active lifestyles beyond Punahou as well as the social emotional and ethical lives of our students. The Health faculty job duties include, but will not be limited to:
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Utilize technology and integrate the use of technology to provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities, instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials, observe, evaluate, encourage and provide feedback on student's performance.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development preparing required reports on students and activities.
- Provide age-appropriate Health lessons focusing on skills-based health methods of teaching that relate to National Health Standards including but not limited to Human Development, Puberty, and Hygiene.
- Plan and deliver lessons from the respect curriculum of the Sex Abuse Treatment Center of Hawaii (SATC).

Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay and benefits. The pay rate, if displayed, is the minimum hourly rate for the position. Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Health or relevant field. Master's preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience working in a middle school environment.
- Understanding of personalized learning and the ability to address the diverse needs of all students, and employ a variety of teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- The ability to assess progress in a variety of ways, to use assessment and reflection to foster student learning and inform instructional decisions, and to communicate progress to students, parents and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse and high performing faculty, and with students, parents, and other members of the Punahou community.
- The ability and willingness to learn enthusiastically as a member of a Professional Learning Community, to connect with local, national, and global Professional Learning Networks, and a commitment to share learning experiences with colleagues.
