Position Summary

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a full-time Faculty - Criminal Justice Technology instructor. Under the direction of the Program Chair, the faculty member provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations in the Associate in Applied Science program. This individual promotes the college's mission by providing effective individual teaching and learning, curriculum development, advising, professional development, institutional service, and community outreach. The faculty member will teach a minimum of 18 contact hours each term or 36 total contact hours fall and spring terms.

This position will be seated primarily on our south campus in Concord, NC

Required Education/Experience

  • Master's degree in Criminal Justice or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Criminal Justice


Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

  • Terminal degree in Criminal Justice or Homeland Security.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the Criminal Justice Field.
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the community college or university level.
  • Experience in a regional accreditation process, such as SACSCOC.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Possess knowledge in teaching and learning principles for adult education, which may include curriculum development, curriculum implementation, and student assessment and evaluation, appropriate to the faculty role.
  • Evidence of effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Working knowledge/utilization of online learning platforms such as Blackboard and Microsoft Teams.

7. When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked with required supplies and equipment is in safe operating order.
