Job Overview:

The LPN Faculty is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing education to students enrolled in the Licensed Practical Nursing program in Ohio. The instructor will design, implement, and evaluate the nursing curriculum in accordance with the institution's guidelines, state regulations, and accreditation standards. They play a key role in preparing students for careers as Licensed Practical Nurses by teaching theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and fostering professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Instruction and Curriculum Development:
    • Teach courses related to nursing theory, practical nursing skills, and health care systems.
    • Develop, update, and revise curriculum materials to ensure alignment with current nursing practices and standards.
    • Create lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that engage students and measure competency.
    • Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into classroom and clinical instruction.
  2. Clinical Supervision:
    • Supervise students in clinical settings, ensuring safe practice and adherence to professional standards.
    • Evaluate student performance during clinical rotations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Coordinate with clinical sites to ensure a positive learning environment for students.
  3. Student Advising and Mentorship:
    • Provide academic advising to students, assisting with course selections and career planning.
    • Serve as a mentor to students, offering support in both academic and personal development.
    • Track and evaluate student progress, providing interventions and tutoring as needed.
  4. Collaboration and Administration:
    • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development and program review processes.
    • Work closely with colleagues, clinical partners, and other departments to ensure seamless program operation.
    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and evaluations in compliance with institutional policies.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Stay current with nursing practice standards, education methodologies, and technology advancements in healthcare.
    • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities and pursue continuing education as needed.
  6. Compliance and Accreditation:
    • Ensure that the nursing program complies with state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
    • Assist with the preparation of reports for accreditation and state nursing boards.
    • Uphold academic integrity and ethical standards in both teaching and nursing practices.

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred).
    • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license; Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
    • Previous teaching experience in a nursing program or related field is highly desirable.
    • Experience in supervising or mentoring nursing students in clinical settings.
