Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee all aspects of our industrial security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). The FSO will be responsible for safeguarding classified information and ensuring adherence to government security standards while supporting personnel and facility clearances. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for all security matters, including personnel, physical, and information security.
Manage and maintain compliance with DoD regulations (e.g., NISPOM, ICD 705, 32 CFR Part 117).
Administer and track personnel security clearances via DISS (Defense Information System for Security) and eQIP.
Prepare and maintain all security documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Security Training Materials.
Coordinate with government agencies such as DSS/DAAPM to ensure compliance and resolve security issues.
Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and training for employees, including insider threat awareness and classified information handling.
Manage visitor access, classified meeting support, and secure work areas.
Oversee self-inspections and prepare for DSS vulnerability assessments and audits.
Support COMSEC and OPSEC activities as required.
Maintain and track classified storage containers (GSA-approved), security systems, and access control.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degreeBachelor's degree in criminal justice
Minimum of 3-5 years of FSO experience or industrial security management in a cleared defense contracting environment
Required Skills Proficient with NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117, and DCSA (formerly DSS) guidelines
Experience with DISS, NISS, eQIP, SWFT, and STEPP systems
Demonstrated success managing personnel security clearance (PCL) processes, including SF-86, Visit Requests, initial and periodic reinvestigations
Working knowledge of classified information marking, storage, transmission, and destruction procedures
Experience preparing for and responding to DCSA security vulnerability assessments
Ability to develop and deliver security training, briefings, and debriefings (initial, refresher, and foreign travel)
Strong understanding of Insider Threat Program requirements and reporting protocols
Familiarity with classified contracts, DD254 forms, and subcontractor security coordination
