Description Markon is seeking a Facility Occupational Safety Specialist to support our NRO client at multiple locations across the US. Responsibilities The ideal Facility Occupational Safety Specialist will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks: Prepare corporate occupational safety and health policy statements, SOPs, fact sheets, and other governance documentation for government review and approval.
Plan, coordinate, and lead Environmental Safety Council (ESC) meetings.
Draft and publish occupational safety and health program SOPs and policy documentation.
Collect and analyze injury and illness data to identify trends and develop corrective action plans.
Provide OSHA technical support for compliance plans related to electrical safety, global harmonization, asbestos, lead abatement, and training.
Offer regulatory guidance to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Conduct safety inspections, audits, and evaluations on a scheduled basis.
Present briefings to senior executive government personnel on program status and potential liabilities.
Develop and deliver safety and health training programs on behalf of the Chief of Safety. Qualifications Required: TS/SCI with a Counterintelligence Polygraph (Preferably with this client)
High School Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree required (dependent on level)
2-10+ years of experience in occupational safety and health or a related field
Familiarity with OSHA standards and federal regulatory compliance
Experience drafting safety policy and conducting safety audits
Desired: Experience working in government or military environments
Knowledge of asbestos and lead abatement regulations
Strong presentation and communication skills for executive-level briefings Salary Range USD $120,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr. The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
