Facility Maintenance Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW
American Pool is hiring a full-time, year-round Facility Maintenance Manager. This role's main responsibility is overseeing a portfolio of pools within a geographic region. This position requires a variety of skills which include management and supervision of seasonal staff, performing small repairs, facility maintenance and customer service.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be responsible for a portfolio of commercial swimming pools.
- Maintain a quality relationship with all facility property managers which includes responding to clients daily.
- Hire, train and manage all seasonal maintenance technicians.
- Coordinate the opening and closing of all seasonal swimming pools.
- Maintain water quality and equipment at all swimming facilities including indoor accounts.
- Recognize the parts and repairs needed at all facilities and report to the Service Manager.
- Perform small repairs and other construction work as needed.
- Conduct area sales by preparing proposals for products, repairs, construction, and service.
- Ensure facility compliance with health department regulations.
- Maintain databases of client information.
- Attend any necessary client meetings.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, time management, and decision-making skills required.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and the Internet required.
- Clean motor vehicle record and valid driver's license required.
- Current Certified Pool Operator is preferred but not required. Training is available.
- Previous swimming pool experience preferred.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule during the busy season from April through Labor Day.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to spend extended periods walking, standing, and sitting.
- Occasional lifting of equipment or materials (up to 85 lbs).
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and varying weather conditions.
- Typically works outdoors for prolonged periods of time, often at commercial properties (apartments, condos, swim clubs).
- The role requires working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, or cold temperatures.
- Travel between job sites or offices using a company vehicle or personal transportation may be required.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
- Flexibility to work outside traditional office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary to meet business and client needs.
- Availability during peak seasons, such as summer holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day), when operational demands are highest.
