Position Classification Title Facilities Maintenance Technician-Mechanical Trade FLSA Non-Exempt Position Class 17423 Position Overview Position Summary The position must have HVAC knowledge of basic refrigeration cycle, types and functions, and the methods of maintenance and repair of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. Using electrical test devices, troubleshoot and repair chiller electrical control circuits. Independently overhaul small reciprocal compressors. Will overhaul larger reciprocal, absorption, and centrifugal compressors. Checks accuracy and calibrate electrical, pneumatic, and electronic control systems. Troubleshoot control circuits and replace faulty thermostats, wiring and control devices. Wires, controls and builds and installs duct work and chilled water piping. Removes and replaces joints or lengths of pipe in chilled water distribution systems. Provides technical assistance and mentors other technicians.
