Title: Facilities Operations I&C/TGM Technician
Location: Austin, TX (on-site role)
Duration: Full-time, long-term opportunity
Pay: $30/hr+ (depending on experience)
Insight Global is hiring a Facilities Operations I&C/TGM Technician to support a leading semiconductor manufacturer in Austin, TX. This technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of facility systems and controls. The role involves hands-on work across multiple technical disciplines, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
You will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, system startups, commissioning, and supporting compliance and calibration efforts. This role requires collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure optimal facility performance and safety.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience with facility systems and controls
- Current state electrical license
- Proficiency in at least two of the following: HVAC, electrical, process piping, mechanical, instrumentation, wastewater treatment, UPW systems
- Advanced troubleshooting and data trending skills
- Familiarity with local, state, and national building/environmental codes
- Ability to interpret complex schematics, drawings, and O&M manuals
- SCBA/APR approved
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work off-shift, weekends, holidays, and be on-call monthly
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Physical ability to work in extreme conditions, tight spaces, and near chemicals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of industry-specific and site-specific equipment
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all site facilities systems
- Manage FMCS and BAS automation systems
- Perform preventative, predictive, and RCM maintenance
- Support technical training and emergency response activities
- Oversee air-balancing for factory and office spaces
- Maintain and update SOPs and documentation
- Conduct minor pipefitting and low-voltage electrical work
- Order materials and manage parts inventory
- Support PME equipment calibration and toxic gas monitoring systems
- Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation (e.g., transmitters, controllers)
