GNC is looking for a proactive and hands-on Facilities Specialist to support the maintenance and daily operations of our retail stores. This individual will help ensure our physical work environment is safe, clean, efficient, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and experience in general maintenance or building systems.
What You'll Do:
This is a Full-Time Salary Position
The Facilities Specialist is an integral part of GNC's Facilities Management team. This position manages break/ fix/reactive repairs, preventive maintenance programs, proactive initiatives and capital improvements for 1,400 corporate stores. They are also responsible for ensuring that stores, in their assigned region, are maintained to GNC's Store Standards.
- Prepare and present pricing and service analysis (SLA's) to Facilities Manager.
- Prepare and present Budget to Actual Expense and Capital variance analysis.
- Review and recommendation of internal controls and processes.
- Make prompt decisions to repair or replace emergency maintenance based on expertise in the field.
- Approve and monitor all repair services for HVAC, gate, glass, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, flooring, sign repair, etc. for all corporate stores, in an assigned region through a third-party web-based facility platform.
- Communicate with store personnel and field management on resolving all maintenance issues.
- Direct and resolve property management issues with landlords. Work with Legal and Real Estate to request landlord reimbursements as necessary i.e. HVAC Warranty Program.
- Direct and resolve code compliance issues with municipalities, government agencies and third-party vendors.
- Determine essential Capital Improvement Projects for stores within an assigned region and manage them throughout the project life cycle.
- Prepare and provide suggested Capital Repair documents and critical analysis of the proposed repair or replacement of the asset bids/quotes with a detailed scope of work, average historical repair cost, and the assets historical repair history.
- Present and review Capital Repair Packet with the Manager of Facilities.
- Bid/negotiate with general contractors and/or trade vendors, pricing and project timing.
- Order OSM (owner supplied materials) and coordinate delivery.
- Authorize POs for payment of materials, equipment and contractors.
- Schedule with the stores, field team, franchisees, vendors, contractor's landlords, etc.
- Track progress and certify each project is completed to GNC Standards while staying within their proposed budget.
- Identify potential vendors and maintain vendor relationships.
- Partner with Third Party Facility vendor and manage FM Pilot and work orders for specific Districts.
- Create vendor performance reporting and analytics for maintaining GNC standards.
- Analytical ability to Interpret RFl's, RFP's, and make appropriate vendor selections.
- Provide Support to Field Operations and other departments related to new initiatives being considered or studied. Producing store related market data for the GNC store characteristics being studied.
- Partner with the Store Services team to identify, design, and Implement energy efficient solutions projects including Equipment upgrades.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Environmental Factors & Working Schedule:
- Hybrid work environment, 2-3 days in-person attendance (Pittsburgh, PA) in addition to ability to work remotely.

- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field; or an equivalent combination of a technical degree and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.
- 3+ years of technical or retail maintenance experience preferred
- Corporate facilities or Property Management experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
