Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of the Quality System at RIX Industries.
Responsibilities
- Receive in process and final inspections as necessary to support company goals and schedule performance. Inspections and supporting actions and duties are described in the RIX Quality Control Manual.
- Determine the acceptability of parts, processes, repairs, and corrective actions taken to resolve deficiencies.
- Maintain inspection and other records as necessary to document and support the quality system requirements of the company. These records must be clear, concise and consistent with company requirements.
- Maintaining calibration and Government Property records. Document and implement necessary changes to assigned sections of the Quality Manual and System.
- Supplemental tasks and duties may from time to time be assigned inside and outside the area of Quality Control. These tasks and duties will be defined and assigned by the Quality Control Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints. Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments and complex measuring equipment. Technical competence including knowledge of casting, machining, welding and assembly of complex mechanical equipment. Ability to read and understanding of corporate structure and how Quality Control affects corporate operations. General computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and basic typing skills. Training or education in MIL I 45208A, MIL Q 9859A, and ISO 9001.
- Practical math skills, up to and including Geometry and Trigonometry.
- Ability to communicate with others to exchange information both orally and in writing.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15. May require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in the use and programming of a Zeiss CMM, using Zeiss Calypso software highly desired.
- Three years' experience in visual, dimensional and mechanical inspection of precision parts. This includes castings, machined parts, process control and testing.
- Weld inspection experience as a certified Visual Weld Inspector, or certified Visible Dye Penetrant Inspector (for example, ASNT or AWS).
- Experience in heavy manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Undergraduate studies/AA.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This position is regularly exposed to the following conditions:
- Manufacturing, warehouse and office environments
- While working near moving equipment, mechanical parts and lift trucks; must have the ability to follow safe operating procedures.
- May be exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals.
Must have the following physical abilities:
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
