The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for coordinating maintenance, modifications, and installation for Natrium systems which includes mechanical test fixtures, fluid test loops (sodium, salt, water, gas), and specialty components. This individual will work closely with the Everett Lab Facility Engineer who similarly oversees maintenance and modifications to the overall building and facility equipment.


Responsibilities:

  • Review equipment specifications and ensure compatibility with facility requirements
  • Develop installation plans for new equipment
  • Research and coordinate with vendors as need to facilitate installation and maintenance
  • Lead the technical troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures and develop corrective maintenance plans for the same.
  • Draft maintenance procedures which are conducted by client's personnel.
  • Maintain equipment logs and maintenance records.
  • Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities
  • Demonstrate exemplary safety practices and foster a culture of safety in a testing environment

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS in mechanical engineering field, or equivalent facility or equipment management experience required.
  • 3+ years of proven industry experience in the role
  • Prior experience with nuclear related facilities and radiological work preferred
  • First-hand knowledge of, and a passion for working with a wide variety of electrical, mechanical and chemical systems and components.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills required
  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week
  • Ability to handle projects that include multiple objectives and ability to resolve conflicts between objectives.
  • Qualified electrical worker a plus
  • Ability to participate in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists and technicians with demonstrated results
